This is the blog of John Curtis (aka vrtual). A software developer at Weta Digital, father of 3, husband of 1.
I finally decided to start a blog to fill certain vaguely interesting desires:
1. A collection of ultra-basic tutorials
Short (< 2 mins) video tutorials designed to show my parents how to do basic tasks on a computer.
2. Downloadable software for young kids.
In my “spare time” I love to write software for my toddlers (and older as they grow up). I’ll also stick some more commercial stuff I’ve written here too.
3. A place to put all my geeky links.
Things I discovered, thought were phenomenally useful, and then forgot how I did them or where I found them.
4. A place to rant
Either about computers, people, music or food.

What you using to make the vids ?
BSR Screen recorder. http://www.bsrsoft.com/
Works great. Trial version puts the logo down the bottom right. Working out if I’m going to use it more often and if so will get a registered copy.
